The USTA Southwest Slammin’ Sports Nomination Race

Match Tennis App is excited to partner with USTA Southwest to bring you the USTA Southwest Slammin’ Sports Nomination Race, with winners receiving a rewards based on total nominations received for demonstrating exemplary sportsmanship on court. The initiative is designed to promote good sportsmanship and a positive environment for all who participate in tennis. Read below for how to nominate deserving players directly from the app and more on the other exciting prizes being given away.

How To Vote:

  • Important – Ensure that you input your player’s USTA number on the registration process to associate the event with your new account.

    STEP 2

    After Signing in, from the top of the Match Tennis App homepage, click the “Vote” button to cast your sportsmanship vote.

    From the tournament details page of the event click the blue sportsmanship button and cast your vote.

    What: USTA Southwest Slammin' Sports Nomination Race

      USTA Southwest Section, in collaboration with the Match Tennis App, will conduct the Southwest Slammin’ Sports Nomination Race. This initiative aims to foster exemplary sportsmanship among players during all junior tournaments (WTN, Junior Circuit, non-sanctioned, ranked level 1-7 events) . This regulation document outlines the rules and guidelines governing this initiative.

      Objective

      The primary objective is to encourage positive behavior by rewarding players demonstrating

      superior sportsmanship, thereby fostering a respectful and positive tournament environment.

      Nomination and Reward Structure

      Tiered Reward System

      Players will receive rewards based on the accumulation of nominations. Nominations can be

      submitted by players, parents, or tournament staff using the Sportsmanship Award button on the

      Match Tennis App or through the designated external tournament nomination page.  Players may receive one award from each tier.  If a player has received recognition at all tiers, they will be reset to 0 and can strive to earn all again!

      Rewards

      • 2 Nominations: Tennis Warehouse or Spoiled Office gift card
      • 4 Nominations:  USTA Southwest Swag Package
      • 6 Nominations:  US Open Swag Package
      • 8 Nominations:  USTA Southwest Sportsmanship Award at Annual Banquet (travel expenses included)

        When:

        This contest will run from Jan1- Dec 31, 2025.

        Who can vote?

        Players, parents, tournament staff, and coaches are entitled to nominate up to 3 players at each individual tournament held within the USTA Southwest section who have demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship during the designated contest period.

        Who is eligible to participate?

        All players must reside within the current USTA Southwest section to be eligible for nominations towards The USTA Southwest Slammin’ Sports Nomination Race.

        • Players are eligible for 1 reward at each tier.
        • For participants in junior tournaments (WTN, Junior Circuit, non-sanctioned, ranked level 1-7 events)

          USTA Rule Violations

          • Players receiving code violations will have a nomination reward removed from their respective total nominations. 
          • A second code violation will lead to disqualification from the Southwest Slammin’ Sports Nomination Race.

           

          Legal Disclaimers

          The Sportsmanship Award System is a supplementary feature of the Match Tennis App and

          isn’t obligatory for USTA tournament participation.

          USTA Southwest and Match Tennis App disclaim liability for individual behaviors or match

          outcomes. Prizes are contingent on availability and can be substituted.

          USTA Southwest and Match Tennis App can amend or terminate the program without prior

          notice. Participants agree to abide by these terms.

           Miscellaneous Rules and Regulations

          • Relatives cannot nominate family members.
          • Players can’t nominate themselves.
          • Nominations are capped at 5 per tournament with a possible sixth for top nominees.

          Officials/Referees/Non-VTD Directors

          Please follow these steps to nominate a player for good sportsmanship.

           

          1. Register for free Match Tennis App
          2. Search in MTA (by Tournament ID or Tournament Name)
          3. Save Tournament to My Events
          4. From the tournament page click the Sportsmanship button to cast votes
